Celebrations as Lindsay House receives funding

20th March 2006
Lindsay House Children’s Home in Dunmurry has celebrated the news that it is to receive funding support from the Phoenix Energy for Children Charity.
The charity set up by the natural gas industry aims to raise £100,000 towards the needs of disadvantaged children and to really make a difference to their lives.
Based in Seymour Hill, Lindsay House gives much needed care to children with learning disabilities from all ages and backgrounds. The charity support will provide these children with a new multi-sensory room where they can enjoy playing both safely and imaginatively.
David Mayne, of Mayne Gas and Heating Services, was on hand to present the Phoenix Energy for Children Charity award to Jim Braiden, Vice-Chairman of Friends of Lindsay House.
Jim Braiden, who was responsible for proposing Lindsay House for the award, said
“This is such great news and will enable us to design and implement a superb new room with all the essential equipment to stimulate the senses of children who benefit immensely from this kind of environment.”
