Phoenix Engineer Makes Shortlist

Denver Wasson of Phoenix Natural Gas has won the Irish section of this year’s Young Persons Paper Competition. As is tradition the competition is comprised of various regional pulmonary rounds were the winner of each then goes through to the final.
For his paper Denver chose to debate Ultrasonic Gas flow-metering equipment within the Phoenix Supply Network, and how the technology could be used to benefit his company – mainly that it could enable them to further improve the operational management of their Network. As a token of congratulations Peter Dixon, Chairman of the IGEM Irish Section, presented Denver with a trophy and a cheque for £250.
The final this year will be held on the 26th May at Drayton Manor Theme Park. Seven sectional winners are taking part. The sections being represented are the Irish, the Far East, London & Southern, Manchester & District, Midlands, Wales and the USA. The winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to the World Energy Congress being held in Rome.
