Gas Energy Management

Phoenix Supply and Invest NI recently came together for the 9th annual Gas Energy Management Awards to celebrate the steps being taken by the local business community to be more energy efficient, and in doing so save money and the environment.

Eight local companies picked up energy management awards, and it was announced that in the last year alone Phoenix’s industrial and commercial customers had collectively saved around £7 million in energy costs by converting to natural gas as opposed to remaining with their original fuel source.

The theme of the event was a focus on local businesses contributing to a ‘sustained environment through reduced carbon emissions and innovation’. UK energy expert Niall Trimble of the Energy Contract Company also gave guests an insight into the future of the natural gas market.

Reflecting on those who picked up awards David Strahan, General Manager of Phoenix Supply, commented that each was: “an excellent example of a project that has used the flexibility and controllability of natural gas to achieve continuous improvement both in terms of energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions”.
