- Competition is open to Northern Ireland residents only, which are privately owned domestic dwellings within the area in which natural gas is currently available and within which Phoenix Natural Gas is licensed (pursuant to the Gas Order (NI) 1996) to supply natural gas.

- Entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
- Entry is not open to employees of Phoenix Natural Gas, McNicholas Construction, their immediate families or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
- This competition is ineligible to anyone who;
- Is currently in the process of installing Phoenix Natural Gas at the same address up to the time of the competition closing date.
- Has previously been declined a natural gas connection at any time and for any reason
- Is an existing customer of Phoenix Natural Gas at the same address. This is any property which already has a natural gas meter fitted (whether or not natural gas is actually consumed on that property); including rented property.
- Fails to complete a Gas Supply Agreement in full.
- Is in an Industrial and Commercial property.
- Is currently in a newly built property (natural gas prepared home)
- Is eligible for grant assistance (whether from central or local government, housing association, charity or other source) for the installation of any gas appliance or central heating system.
- Promotor of this competition is Phoenix Natural Gas Ltd, whose registered offices are at 197 Airport Road West, Belfast, BT3 9ED.
- Winners will be required to participate in related publicity and winners agree to allow Phoenix Natural Gas to publish their name on the Phoenix Natural Gas website (www.phoenixnaturalgas.com).
- The free central heating installation will be performed by Phoenix Domestic Installer of the Year, Paul Heaney Plumbing and heating.
- The competition winner will receive a natural gas central heating installation worth up to £2,500 which includes the following;
- A high efficiency combination boiler, high efficiency conventional boiler, high efficiency system boiler or combination boiler (whichever is deemed the most suitable for the property, by the installer).
- Standard horizontal flue.
- Independent hot water and central heating (no further need for electric immersion heater – if desired).
- Includes upgrading of pipework from boiler to cylinder.
- Hot water temperature control.
- Up to 15 metres of 22mm gas pipework from boiler to meter.
- New efficient control system consisting of;
- Seven day 2 channel programmer.
- Room thermostat.
- Up to six thermostatic radiator valves.
- Cylinder thermostat.
- Motorised valves.
Note: Combination boiler types provide instantaneous hot water. No cylinder or controls necessary on the domestic hot water part of the system.
- All electrical works relating to new programmer / room thermostat / cylinder thermostat / motorized valves and boilers.
- New circulating pump where required.
- Fully cleansed and treated radiator and pipework system. (Eliminating sludge and improving efficiency).
- Frost thermostat if fitted externally.
- 2 year warranty, if serviced in first year.

- In the case of the winning property currently having Economy 7 central heating, the free central heating installation will also include up to 7 radiators.

- Free central heating installation is subject to a technical survey.
- In the case of the winning property currently having oil-fired central heating, the old oil boiler will be removed free of charge by Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating.
- The winner accepts that part of the process of installing natural gas central heating, involves completing a Gas Supply Agreement and an appointment with either a Phoenix Natural Gas Energy Adviser or with Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating.
- Signing a Gas Supply Agreement constitutes a willingness by the winner to pursue the process of the free installation for natural gas central heating.
- Full terms and conditions associated with signing the Gas Supply Agreement can be found on the reverse of the agreement at the time of the winner’s appointment with either a Phoenix Natural Gas Energy Adviser or with Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating.
- In the event that the central heating conversion costs less to complete than the £2,500 competition prize value, this will constitute the complete prize and no further monies will be presented to the winner or work carried out on their behalf.
- In the event that the central heating conversion is projected to cost more than the £2,500 competition prize value, the winner will be notified prior to any works taking place and will be issued with a quotation by Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating for the complete works, less the £2,500 competition prize value.
- Phoenix Natural Gas may at its absolute discretion withdraw this offer at any time without notice.
- Entries not submitted in accordance with these rules, delayed, incomplete or ineligible will be disqualified.
- The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Details entered in this competition should relate to the property that the entrant is currently the owner of and should not relate to any property not currently under the ownership of the entrant.
- These conditions must be read in conjunction with and not in substitution for Phoenix’s Standard Conditions of Supply for Domestic Properties.
- For all types of installation work involving any fuel, planning permission must be granted prior to work commencing. The property owner should contact local Building Control to establish if a Building Warrant is required. There will be a cost associated with obtaining planning permission from Building Control, which may be up to £60 and would be payable by the property owner, not by Phoenix Natural Gas as part of this competition prize.
- In these conditions the free connection to a natural gas meter will only be made to a Qualifying Property, which means a privately owned domestic dwelling where the curtilage of the property is not more than 50m from the nearest connectable main.
- Phoenix will arrange to supply and install a natural gas meter to a Qualifying Property within 8 weeks from the date the Gas Supply Agreement is received by Phoenix Natural Gas.
- The meter installed will be located no further than 15m from the nearest connectable main or greater than 2m along the gable wall of the property. The location of the service pipe must have at least 1-meter clear distance from any property. In all instances, the location of the meter within each Qualifying Property shall be determined by Phoenix.
- Customers shall allow Phoenix and it’s employees, Agents and Sub Contractors access to the Qualifying Property to install the meter. If Phoenix are unable to install the meter within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a completed Gas Supply Agreement due to some default by the customer, Phoenix will be entitled to charge a fee of £100, if a meter is subsequently installed after the expiry date of the said 8 week period.
- Where a connection is to be made to a dwelling, which is not a Qualifying Property (as per condition 29 above) Phoenix shall be entitled to charge a fee, at the standard prevailing rate, for all connection costs and pipework (including the cost of laying such service pipework).
- Phoenix Natural Gas can accept no liability whatsoever for any equipment installed or quality of work performed by Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating. The winner should be aware that any agreement made between themselves and Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating, even with regards to the acceptance of the free central heating installation, is between the customer and Paul Heaney Plumbing and Heating and that any payment, or recourse, shall be between these two parties only.
- In the event of flatted properties, it may be necessary for Phoenix to acquire Wayleave in order that provision of a gas supply can be made available. In these circumstances provision of a gas supply will only be granted provided Wayleave is made available and within reasonable time.
- It is essential that a customer determines that there is a suitable gas supply available to the property. The cost of providing such is not included in quotations for installation of equipment.
